Established: 2016
Twisted Clovers was founded by Brittany Murphy in the fall of 2016 upon graduation from college with degrees in horse training, management, and business. Twisted Clovers quickly grew by word of mouth and a reliable reputation in horse and dog training. Our love has always been for animals but really started to focus on quarter horses and mountain curs. We have added horse breeding in 2019 and will be adding dog breeding in 2020. We are exciting to still be growing and look forward to adding more projects to share with the public.
Our Logo
4-H has always been a huge part of Brittany's youth and starting her in training her own animals. Seeing what the judges were looking for in training, but also in breeding qualities really started her love of animal studies. We have incorporated the symbol of the clover into our work. The clover also represents our strong Irish roots and qualities of being strong, stubborn, and hard working. The horse and dog heads tie in the training and breeding of horses and dogs through our program. We of course had to also include a lucky horse-shoe to bring all of us and those we encounter good luck and blessings.
Education
Brittany graduated from Ellsworth Community College of Iowa Fall, Iowa at the top of her class with a double major in Equine Science and Equine Management. Although these degrees are geared towards horses, these skills have transitioned into how animals in general think, process new training, and command installment. She has been very blessed in accepting an internship to Florida to work with Arabian sport horses in the summer of 2015 and another internship to Louisiana to work with Service Dogs in the spring of 2019.
- Brittany has done many dog activities including Rally, Agility, Obedience, Showmanship, Confirmation (bench), and be in the field with both water fowl and upland hunting as well as squirrel and coon hunting with hounds.
- Brittany has done many horse activities including trail riding, western showing, reining, open shows, hunt seat, low level dressage, chuck wagon racing, barrel racing, and jumping.
Today
Brittany is an active part of the community including volunteering her time to help instruct the local 4-H horse and dog programs. You can also see her in local parades and around the community helping or with a dog doing training work. Support her business by purchasing apparel and hats with her logo on them. Our goals are still to work with and produce amazing well rounded horses and dogs for families of all ages and backgrounds for years to come.
