WHAT METHOD OF TRAINING DO YOU USE?
Calm, positive training that holds the dogs attention and makes them want to work. Not all dogs are the same and we find a reward that the dogs like to use as positive reinforcement. Treats, toys, pats, and play time are used as rewards for correct commands, good behavior, and steady improvements. Each dog will learn that working well equals rewards and fun! Making learning quick, easy, and enjoyable.
WHAT DO I NEED FOR ONLINE LESSONS?
You will need to provide treats, collar, leash, crate. We also encourage a toy that can be used as a reward. Depending on training goals, a place bed would be a great thing to add to your training supply list.
HOW OLD DOES MY DOG HAVE TO BE TO ENTER ONLINE TRAINING?
Your dog or puppy has to be a minimum of 8 weeks old. All ages older than 8 weeks old are welcome!
WHERE DOES TRAINING TAKE PLACE?
Online lessons can be held in your home, we encourage a room or open area around 15 feet wide for ample walking room. Lessons can be done on a phone or computer and are streamed through Zoom.
HOW OFTEN WILL MY DOG BE TRAINED EACH WEEK?
Online lessons are held for 1 hour each week. We encourage you to continue to work with your dog daily during the week between lessons. The time frame of how many weeks for training is determined by the progress made between sessions. Our average is 6 weeks. You will be mailed a completion package from Twisted Clovers. AKC tests must be done in person, so no certification and ribbons for AKC testing will be provided.
